.js.map file support

Nov 7, 2013 at 6:17 AM
Can we support the .js.map file pattern to enable easier debugging of client script on production servers without having the set the whole site to compilation debug=true?

Could this be done as an ITransform after the bundling process but before the minification process.

Cheers,
Ben

I have completed this as a custom AjaxMinBundle with another custom AjaxMinBundleBuilder. Will release as a NuGet package this weekend if I get time. Supports V3 JSON JS source map generation.

@benmccallum Have you released that NuGet package, by any chance?

Sorry I haven't just yet. I probably can later today. I'll let you know when it is up. Cheers.

Hey @Fissionary

Sorry for the massive delay. I've been all over the place. Check out: https://github.com/benmccallum/AspNetBundling
I've uploaded two classes that should interest you AjaxMinBundle and AjaxMinBundleBuilder. You'll also need the BundleFileTypes enum and to add the AjaxMin NuGet package to your web app project.

Then just take a look at my usage example on the GitHub repository landing page and you should be able to figure it all out.

Cheers,
Hope that helps,
I'll get it in a NuGet package one day,
Ben
